Dr. Salmon made his first trip to China in 1985, at the request of the Chinese Government, as part of a delegation comprising members of the Abrasive Engineering Society. The visit was centered in Guiyang, in Guizhou Province. See the newspaper report (in Chinese) by clicking on the Chinese flag.
Dr. Salmon visited Hong Kong in 2002 for ISAAT V, sponsored by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Japan Society for Abrasive Technology. It was at this conference that ICAT, the International Committee on Abrasives Technology was founded and Dr. Salmon became a founding member.
